Dr. Hasan Noor Khan did his Bachelors and Masters in Electrical Engineering from UET Lahore, in 2004 and 2007, respectively. In both of these degrees, his area of specialization was Electronics & Communication. He secured the fellowship of the National Engineering and Scientific Commission of Pakistan for his Master studies. He did his M.Sc. thesis in the field of chaos-based spread spectrum communication systems.
Dr. Khan joined FAST-NUCES Islamabad as an Assistant Professor in the Electrical Engineering Department in 2007, where he served till 2010. Later his services were transferred to FAST-NUCES Lahore campus and he stayed there form 2010-2012. Before leaving for his PhD studies in Austria, he was serving at the FAST-NUCES Chiniot-Faisalabad campus in 2013.
From Feb 2004 till April 2013, Dr. Khan was part of Electrical Engineering faculty (both permanent and visiting) at more than 7 Universities in Islamabad, Lahore, and Faisalabad in Pakistan. During this time, he had taught extensively at the undergraduate and post-graduate level in the field of Electrical Engineering, lecturing the courses like Coding Theory (Post-Graduate), Information Theory & Coding, Wireless Communication Systems, Microwave Engineering, Wave Propagation & Antenna Theory, Electromagnetic Theory, Satellite Communication, Optical Communication Systems, Digital Signal Processing, Digital Communications, Analog Communication Systems, Communication Lab (UET Lahore), Stochastic Processes, Signals & Systems, Measurements & Instrumentation, Digital Electronics, Digital Logic Design, Network Analysis, Circuit Analysis, Linear Control Systems, Wireless Application Protocol (WAP). Dr. Khan also served as the interim departmental In-Charge of the Electrical Engineering Department at GC university Faisalabad in 2007.
From May 2013 till May 2017, Dr. Khan pursued his doctoral studies (passed with distinction) at the Institute of Microwave & Photonic Engineering (www.ihf.tugraz.at), Graz University of Technology (TUG), Graz, Austria. He worked under Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Bösch (an IEEE Fellow). His area of research was Ultra High Frequency Radio Frequency IDentification (UHF RFID) system design. During the course of his stay in Graz, he was employed by TUG as a University Project Assistant under the project ‘SeCoS: Secure Contactless Sphere –Smart RFID Technologies for a Connected World.’
After his PhD studies, Dr. Khan joined a leading semiconductors industry in Austria, the NXP Semiconductors as an RF/Wireless Development Engineer. He was involved in the High Frequency (HF) RFID system design/application area, i.e., @13.56 MHz, mainly Near Field Communication (NFC).
His research interests are in the area of RFID system design. In the UHF range, his focus is on the localization and signal processing techniques such as MIMO. In the HF range, i.e., the NFC area, his interests are to explore the coexistence of wireless charging and the NFC. As per the recent trend, he is also exploring the mmWave wireless communication techniques for different applications like automotive RADAR and mmWave RFID. He is a Senior Member of IEEE, since 2017.

Apart from professional activities, he is a passionate cricketer and loves traveling. He has driven himself 25,000 km plus across Europe over the past 5 years, visiting different cities and cites. He is a fond book lover and over the years, he has collected some famous book titles of the revered authors of Electrical Engineering, i.e., Valkenburg, Haykin, Balanis, Kraus, Elliot, Cheng, Lathi, Proakis to name a few. He has a personal book collection of more than 300 books, all relevant to his field of Electrical Engineering.
