Introduction

Ms. Hira Hanif is currently serving as a Lecturer in English at FAST-NUCES. Previously, she worked as a language teacher at government institutions, where she taught courses including Functional English, Expository Writing, and English for Employment Purposes to undergraduate students. She also worked as a National Resource Person at Pakistan Corpus Studio (PCS) for one year, conducting webinars and training sessions on the use of corpus analysis tools for language teaching and research.

Her research interests include English language teaching, language assessment and validation, and corpus linguistics. Her MPhil research focused on the development and validation of a Metalinguistic Knowledge Test (MKT) of written academic discourse for university undergraduates in Pakistan, contributing to one of the early studies in Pakistan in this area. Through her research, she explores how linguistic research and assessment can inform language teaching and provide a better understanding of learners’ needs.
