Mr. Usama Ashfaq has been serving as an Instructor in English at FAST-NUCES, Chiniot-Faisalabad Campus since January 2023. He brings with him approximately four years of teaching experience in well-reputed educational institutions, including Kohinoor Grammar School (Samundari Road Campus, Faisalabad) and Little Angels College – Angels International College, Faisalabad.

He has taught a variety of English language courses, with a focus on narrative, descriptive, argumentative, and story writing, as well as letter writing, particularly at the O Level.

Mr. Ashfaq possesses strong academic and co-curricular skills. He has participated in international seminars and conferences such as the International Conference of the Linguistic Association of Pakistan (ICLAP) and the International Conference on IT and Industrial Technologies (ICIT), which have enhanced his exposure to current trends in language education and interdisciplinary research.

His research interests lie in Second Language Acquisition (SLA) and Discourse Analysis. Within SLA, he is particularly interested in how learners acquire grammatical structures, vocabulary development, and the role of input and interaction in language learning. He also explores how sociocultural factors affect language acquisition. In the field of Discourse Analysis, his focus includes examining how meaning is constructed through language in social contexts, the analysis of spoken and written texts, and how power, identity, and ideology are reflected and negotiated through discourse.
