Introduction

Zohaib Ali joined National University of Computer & Emerging Sciences (FAST-NUCES) as a Lecturer in 2025. He completed his M.S. in Computer Science from FAST NUCES and earned his B.S. in Computer Science from The University of Faisalabad. Before joining FAST NUCES, he served as a Lecturer at The University of Faisalabad and worked as a Research Associate at FAST NUCES, contributing to research in applied cryptography for IoT-enabled environments. His work includes developing lightweight security mechanisms—such as certificateless signcryption with equality testing—tailored for resource-constrained settings like Wireless Body Area Networks (WBANs).

His research interests include information security, cryptography, IoT security (WSN/WBAN), artificial intelligence (AI) network technologies, and computer hardware/computer architecture. In addition to research, he has experience teaching a range of undergraduate courses, including Programming Fundamentals, Data Structures, Design and Analysis of Algorithms, and Information Security.

Collaborations at National and International Level

I am in collaboration with researchers from Chinese institutions—including the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) and Zhejiang Normal University—along with Dr. Negalign Wake Hundera, Junaid Hassan, and Dr. Muhammad Umar Aftab, on a project addressing secure and efficient data transmission in IoT-enabled Wireless Body Area Networks (WBANs). This collaboration resulted in the publication titled “Securing Wireless Body Area Network with a Lightweight Certificateless Signcryption Scheme Using Equality Test” in Computer Standards & Interfaces (Elsevier).

Detail of Funded Projects

Research project Title ” A provable secure attribute-based generalized proxy signcryption scheme with incremental cryptography for IoT enabled e-healthcare” funded by ORIC FAST NUCES, Pakistan, (2023-24).
